FAQ

  • How does the retrieval process work?

The first step will be to contact Petland so we can schedule one of our drivers to come get your animal. Please make sure the pet is accessible to our truck on  hard ground and not in a stall. If we are unable to access your large animal we may be unable to perform the retrieval.

  • Do you offer rendering for large animals

No. We do not perform any rendering services of any kind. We only provide cremation and burial services for the animals we help.

  • Do you offer burial for large animals?

We only offer Private or Group Cremation services for large animals currently.

  • I would like keepsake like a piece of mane or a horseshoe from my large animal as a memento, how do I do that?

We highly suggest sheering the pieces of mane or tail yourself to make sure you your able to get result you want. The natural process of death can be messy, which is absolutely not the animal’s fault but it becomes rapidly more difficult to retrieve or make mementos as time passes. We always try to help but sometimes we’re unable to do so because of the natural processes.

We do not have farriers on staff to remove horse shoes. Depending on the metal composition and how long a cremation takes horseshoes may or may not survive the cremation process.

  • How will me horses remains be returned to me?

We use a private carrier like UPS or FedEx to return their cremated remains in a large cardboard utility box. We do offer wooden and custom urns for large animals.

  • How does billing work for large animals?

We require billing information at the time a large animal retrieval is scheduled and complete billing the day the animal is brought back to Petland Cemetery.
